Of the 32 of life I’ve lived I have not run across one person that likes vomit… Just saying. (how’s that for a hook??)
Our house currently has two “down and out” – both staying close to large bowls / buckets.
My mind might be strange. I can’t help but to think what is it about buckets when you feel the stomach cramps, when you have this un-easy stomach, that brings comfort? There is little that you desire when you have the wave of cramps.. but a bucket?? …. it’s all you want close.
I’m on the hunt to finding a lesson here somewhere in this.
There are times when your spouse or child needs you to be a bucket. Listen. Don’t fix (husband). Listen.
What’s that..? You think you have “just the right words”? Ok, maybe. But I encourage you to pray hard and listen carefully if you should really offer your “just the right words” – may I suggest: be a bucket. Maybe your listening ear is all they need. Be a bucket. And then, after you have been the bucket – use the right words God gives you to encourage, support, and exhort them.
